A New Chapter in Name - Our Mission Stays the Same

At Clear Lake Homes, we emphasize the word community—a reflection of our core belief that every individual is a vital part of a shared life experience. This philosophy is deeply rooted in the vision of our volunteer Board of Directors and founding members, who were inspired by a commitment to provide both physical and spiritual care for retired adults.

Originally established as Willamette Lutheran Homes, our organization was founded as a nonprofit in 1959, laid its cornerstone in 1962, and welcomed its first residents later that year.

From the beginning, our purpose has been guided by three enduring principles:

Centralized Retirement Services

Providing older adults with access to quality retirement living in one supportive community

Spiritual Support

Nurturing spiritual well-being through the presence of an on-site chapel

Whole-Person Care

Supporting the spirit, mind, and body of every resident

Today, Clear Lake Homes continues to honor its Christian heritage while warmly welcoming individuals of all faiths, as well as those who do not identify with a faith tradition. With more than 60 years of dedicated service, we remain committed to fostering a caring, inclusive environment where residents feel connected, valued, and truly at home.

As a nonprofit organization, Clear Lake Homes does not distribute surplus funds to owners or shareholders. Any excess revenue is reinvested directly into the community to support ongoing operations, campus improvements, and long-term planning that benefits current and future residents. This nonprofit structure allows Clear Lake Homes to remain focused on its mission of providing high-quality, affordable senior living while maintaining financial stability and sustainability.

Clear Lake Homes is committed to social accountability and transparency in how it serves both residents and the broader community. By clearly sharing its mission, financial stewardship, and community impact, Clear Lake Homes works to build public trust and confidence among residents, families, and supporters—demonstrating how its nonprofit status directly supports meaningful, mission-driven care and services.
